In the foundry we use titanium, which is technological scrap obtained through the process of manufacturing exhaust systems for motorcycles and sports cars. This is state-of-the-art titanium with exceptional characteristics, such as oxidation resistance at high temperature loads.

We always use only the best grade titanium, which undergoes an exceptionally strict entry control upon delivery in order to ensure the excellence of our casted end products.

In the casting processes we use the highest quality titanium alloys, which are perfected with knowledge, experience and rigorous quality control.

We performed a detailed mechanical and oxidation resistance characterization on different blended alloys, produced by the mixing of materials mentioned above. At the moment, we can offer our clients 4 different types of blends obtained from recycled materials.

We can melt the following materials in our vacuum oven:

  • any quality titanium alloy or nickel based alloy or super alloy, in accordance with EN or ASTM standard requirements;
  • recycled titanium alloy originating from our production processes, like tube manufacturing, bending, deep drawing, etc. Our material is technological scrap; the main titanium alpha alloys we use are the following:
    • Timetal XT,
    • KOBE STEEL 1.5 Al and 1.2 ASN,
    • NIPPON STEEL Cu-Nb and Grade 2;

The titanium foundry is placed in an 800 m² building at the main location of the Akrapovic Company in Ivancna Gorica. The facility comprises all phases of the investment casting process from wax injection to the final inspection of casted parts with X-ray radioscopy and other control procedures (chemical analyses, mechanical properties, dimensional accuracy, etc.).
