Casting facility

Investment casting, also known as lost-wax casting, is one of the oldest known metal forming techniques dating back 5000 years, when beeswax was used for pattern making. The process has evolved since then and today it is used for casting complex parts in different alloys.

The Akrapovič Company realized the potential of this process a few years ago and the decision was made to add a Titanium Investment casting to existing range of advanced technologies which are used for production of exhaust systems.

The facility

The facility comprises all phases of the investment
casting process from wax injection to the final
inspection of casted parts with X-ray radioscopy
and other control procedures (chemical analyses,
mechanical properties, dimensional accuracy, etc.).

The titanium foundry is placed at the main location of Akrapovic Company in Ivančna Gorica.
